Recruitment is an ongoing process, but TULROS does most of its recruitment during the beginning of both fall and spring semesters.

We welcome motivated students from all majors who have a strong interest in law, public policy, and academic research. Whether you have prior experience or are eager to learn, we value curiosity, critical thinking, and a commitment to excellence. Previous experience in writing long-form articles is not required.

Staff is expected to attend weekly hour long meetings that include training, workshops, professional development, and social events. Staff is also expected to work at least one hour per week and to collaborate with their editor outside of meetings.

Editors review and fact-check submissions, provide detailed feedback to writers, and collaborate with their writer to strengthen arguments and clarity. Editors also help maintain our style standards, verify citations, and work as a team to prepare each issue for publication.

Staff writers pitch topics of their choice and our Executive Board determines which topics will be pursued. Writers develop arguments, create outlines, and author their final piece while collaborating closely with editors throughout the entire process.
